Our Vision:
The vision of IX.KW is focusing on being an Internet exchange hub that connects all telecommunication companies in one data base that serves a strong and solid connections. The purpose of this project to become a gateway of the future and becoming a communication center A carrier neutral internet exchange point operated by the internet community in Kuwait, connecting local and international content to lower costs and improve user experience.
Our Mission:
Create a regional peering hub to improve reach, assure quality, and lower bandwidth costs. Deliver enhanced customer experience to the region using a robust state of the art infrastructure to position ix.kw as a leading regional internet exchange point.
IX.KW Advantages:
Internet bandwidth and connectivity cost in Kuwait is high compared to digitally developed nations. While local regulatory structures partly contribute to higher prices, the situation also presents an opportunity to reduce the dependence of service providers on expensive International links by keeping local traffic local.
Statistics have shown that significant chunk of traffic transiting the International links is local. In essence, the cost of sending a local destined email is equal to the cost of sending an internationally destined email. To overcome this anomaly, connecting to ix.kw will ensure that the cost of sending a locally destined email is at a lower cost.
With the offsetting of the local traffic to the exchange point, the International link utilization is reduced which translates to saving on the international link capacity. We expect that these savings will flow down to end customers.
ix.kw will improve access to the local content improving efficiency, speed of services and customer satisfaction in the quality of service provided.
